Text Box character spacing
Hi, I recently saw an effect on an Instagram video, adding a text box to a powerpoint, putting in 12 dashes(not sure if the number is relevant), under shape format, text effects, choose a wave pattern, make the text box larger, i.e. to fill total width and around a quarter of the height. Then format the text in the shape and fill the text using a picture. This then should give a nice effect on a picture to use as the top of the page, broken and in a wave shape. However, on the video the spacing you can see isn't even, then it seems to magically become even. For me again the spacing is not even, so some gaps between blocks are larger than others, but I can't find how to make them equal. If you try the same in word the spacing is equal but you can't apply a picture to the shape (text). Hopefully someone here knows how to correct this thanks in advance for your help |

I think I have solved my problem. It seems that the font selected needs to be ariel black (not mentioned in the video), in case anyone else wanted to try.
*Edit* I tought it worked then when I went to add the picture the spacing went all wonky again Last edited by purplefox; 09-13-2023 at 04:32 AM. Reason: Response change |

I think it might work better if you
- work with letters 'l' instead of dashes, so you don't have to stretch the dashes - start from a circle instead of a text box: type your letters in the circle (center aligned), then add the arch effect to the text (gives a more even wave shape than in a rectangular text box) and add the picture fill to the text. |
