Default resolution problems with growing and image along a motion path

I have what I consider a tricky animation for a campus map I am working on. Here is the setup:

The backdrop is a static image that takes up most of the sheet. On top of that is a image that is a cropped section of the backdrop. The cropped image needs to grow from small (so that it fades in seamlessly with the backdrop) to big (so that it completely covers the backdrop).

The cropped image file is high resolution and looks fine before I scale it down to its starting position (same size as backdrop image).

I have set up the cropped image to fade in "on click" and then simultaneously follow a motion path and grow to the proper size. The problem is that the image becomes extremely pixelated once it is down growing - despite the fact that the original image looks fine.

I'm sure that is very confusing without the slide in front of you but if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Do it in flash instead.

I figured that would probably be a recommended solution. I don't know or have any flash software though. I guess it's time to learn though.

I figured I was asking a bit too much from powerpoint with this one...

That's no problem. After you grow the image, simply fade it out and fade-in the one with high resolution.

That should be it. Separately, a nice Powerpoint plug-in tool for doing simple tweens is called Tweeny (google Tweeny Powerpoint). A great Flash authoring tool and inexpensive is called KoolMoves. Great program, great support. Some people feel its the best (also support forum).

Have Fun!

Thanks One Life, that tweeny program is exactly what I am looking for. Just purchased it for future use.
