Default Question concerning Backgrounds and fading.

I want to create a presentation where my background picture starts off as a normal picture. Then it fades/distorts somewhat so that the text on the PP. can be read easier, and it stays faded/distorted on every slide afterward. Without having to keep "redoing" that animation sequence.

I can't figure this out, and I did not find it on the site here.

Does it matter what format my picture is?

Thanks,

(PS: I am a newbie to this site, sorry if I have broken any guidelines. Thanks again)

Don't try to do this in so complicated manner.

There are two types of background there

1 Title master
2 Slide master

When you open Powerpoint thre is Default Slide master page there.
Insert your background image inthere.
pls, note, that this image have to be faded/distorts.

Than right click at the icon"Slide master" in the left column and choose to create "Title Master".
Insert fullcolor background image ...

That's all :P

Default use the title master...

embed full picture as background to both masters, create semitransparent box to fade out the picture so it is readable, apply it to the other masters you use, and put an entrance fade or other effect on the title master.

A.
