Default Recording Voice on PPT

In the past, I had NO problem, but my university installed the newest PPT.

I begin speaking (recording) and click to the next slide, keep talking...
the next slide, keep talking, the next slide, keep talking, and so on, no problem!

However (and this is where the problem begins) if I stumble across an error in my PPT, I have to stop and fix it (or maybe I need coffee, or my phone rings and I have to stop).

From that point, the behaviour is unexpected.

I can restart the recording from the current slide, but PPT no longer advances to the next slide.

I have to press Record again, use my voice, click to the next slide...
AND IT STOPS AGAIN.

Sometimes, after about five restarts, it DOES advance, but it is never consistent.

I lose the continuous recording to the next slide.

So, let me put it like this. Open a PPT. Go to the middle slide. How do you start the recording so that when you click, the new slide appears and you can keep talking?

Also, as a separate issue; sometimes, it switches to camera mode, but I do NOT want to SEE myself talking--I want ONLY voice, NEVER camera. I am way too beautiful to look at, and it is distracting (even to me) :-)
