Hello all, first time poster here. So I am running windows xp, office 07 and am using the inbuild powerpoint function to enter data for charts. This has worked for me no problem in the past, but now with all of my different presentations (.pptx format), when I click on the chart then under Chart Tools \ Design, when I click on "select data" or "edit data", nothing happens. No error message or anything. It used to just open up excel and let me either change the numbers or switch worksheets. I have SP2 installed, and I have tried the Office diagnose & repair function, which didn't help me. I tried this on a colleagues' computer and it opened up fine, making me think it's something to do with my installation or my computer. Anybody seen this before? Thanks in advance

Go to "powerpoint options" then "resources" and run diagnostics. I just had same problem and this repaired it.

I did try the diagnose & repair function, and it did find one error. Unfortunately it didn't fix the problem for me.
