Default PowerPoint & Linked chart error

Hi all,

I copied and pasted a chart from excel into PowerPoint using the correct method, (Paste Special, Excel Chart, Link), and everything is working fine. I can change the data in the Excel file and it automatically updates in PowerPoint. Both files are saved in my OneDrive personal folder. The problem arises when I reopen PowerPoint and prompted to update links, I get the following error message.
"The linked file is not available. To edit the link, click the File tab. Click the Info tab, and then under Related Documents, click Edit Links to Files".
As a workaround, I have edited the links to files on the Info page and put in the correct location for the files and everything works fine.
Does anybody know why this problem is occurring?

Any help would be much appreciated 😊
