Changing *all* instances of a sound throughout presentation
Hi, new forum member here. Been using PPT for years but just started doing it very "seriously" for work and the superficial help available through google and MS help is no longer making the grade for me. I'm hoping there are some power users here who can help me!
I've searched the forum and found someone else asking this question years ago, with no answers. I'm hoping things have changed between then and now. I've applied the same sounds to the same kinds of animations throughout all my presentations for consistency & branding. But now I wish I had picked a different sound and want to change all instances of the original sound to a new one. I had hoped I could just overwrite the original .wav file with the replacement and, using the same filename, but that doesn't work. So now I'm facing the prospect of manually paging through hundreds of slides and individually reassigning every single animation sound, which will be an eternity of mind-numbing tedium. Clearly there's nothing built in to PPT, but is there perhaps a VBA approach? I'm aware that a lot can be done with VBA but don't know how to actually use it. Teaching myself enough to create a solution from scratch would likely take even longer than making the changes manually. But if someone could maybe get me pointed in the right direction with a stub of code that I can figure out how to modify, I'd be super grateful! Thanks for reading! |
