Pasting linked data from excel into PowerPoint
Hi all.
I am trying to copy data from an excel table into a PowerPoint presentation table, but no matter which procedure I choose accomplish this task, the data doesn't update, and strangely i don't see the "edit link" facility on the info page. This is the main procedure I follow. * Open PowerPoint and add new slide * Insert column chart (example excel worksheet opens) * Delete example data and paste data from my excel worksheet into PowerPoint table cells using 'past link (N)'. The chart immediately updates ok. I save the PowerPoint slide and close down the external excel file. Both files are saved together in the same folder. * I open excel file and change some data and save. * I open PowerPoint file but the chart hasn't updated and the 'refresh chart' button is unavailable, as is the 'edit data' button. Also, when I go to the info page and look for 'edit link' facility it is not there. So that must mean it is not saving the the data I have pasted as linked data. If I create a chart in excel with the original table and then paste the chart into PowerPoint it works fine and updates every-time! What gives? Many thanks in advance! |
