Default Some of my colleagues don't have the Morph transition

In our company we all have PPT2016 through Office 365 subscription with automatic updates. Yet some of us have/see the Morph transition and some don't. Does anyone know how we can solve this? Thanks!

Are you sure they don't have the default save set to 97-2003? That will kill morph.

Hello John, thank you for your suggestion. I checked both the Save Options and the Save As action, and they are set to 'normal' presentations. I guess otherwise none of the colleagues would see the Morph transition? But strangely enough some do and some don't. If we find out what causes this I will let you know

You might post a full scree shot of "their" account showing the version number. It's unlikely they are not up to date in 365 though. Do they have designer and Icons?

Yes they do, John.

However we have been able to find what caused the problem, thanks to your former remark about PPT versions.

The presentation I asked my colleagues to check earlier this week was made in PPT2016 as a ppTx file and then saved in PPT2016 as a ppSx file.

Thinking about your remark and knowing I have different versions of PPT on my pc (to work in for different customers) I asked my colleagues to test the ppTx file instead of the ppSx file, and that worked just fine on all pcs.

So apparently when I save a PPT2016 file to ppSx, that Slide Show presentation opens up as a former version.

Just tested it with a completely new presentation to be sure, and exactly the same thing happened: ppTx works fine, saving as ppSx turns the Morph transition into a Fade.

So now that we know what's causing it, we can work around that

Thank you again for your answers!

Are you sure it's a ppSx not a pps because it does NOT repro here. Morphs work as expected in ppsx files.

Yes, it is ppsx - see image attached.

Also: on my laptop (where I also have different versions of PPT) when I drag the ppsx file into the PPT program the Morph works, but when I open it by double-clicking the file in the File Explorer it shows a Fade Transition.

So I assume that by double-clicking the ppsx opens in an older version of PPT.
Which still doesn't explain why it behaves as a PPT2013 file on my colleagues' pc that has only PPT2016 installed ...

Anyway, we decided not to work with ppsx files for these presentations
