Default Video is choppy when

Hey guys,

I have some videos .avi and .mp4 that are stacks of CT images I'd like to show in a powerpoint presentation. The problem is I find that they are choppy/jerky when I drag the playback bar back and forth. Due to the nature of the presentation, I have to drag the playback to show findings in the CT scans. To confuse matters, the same ppt file with the same imbedded videos runs smoothly when dragging the playback bar on my laptop (vs. my desktop). They both run the same windows 7 and ms office 2016. I must be missing some setting somewhere. Any ideas?

Here is a .ppt file with two sample videos. Depending on your computer, they may be smooth or choppy as you drag the playback bar back and forth. Letting videos play from start to finish is not an option unfortunately.
