Anybody know what to do about this... ?
I keep getting a message from Power Point 2013 saying "Power Point could not finish creating video (name of video).mp4. Do you want to try again?" Usually when I get this message I have to rebuild the presentation from scratch, trying again only results in the same error message. Apparently there's no fix for this. Sometimes changing the slide and starting over again works sometimes it doesn't. Most third party pptx to mp4 conversion tools are junk and result in less than desirable outcomes. Any solutions here? I rebuilt this one and still getting the same error. It happens when saving to any form of video file, wmv mov or what have you. |

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?
PS: Please don't post oversize graphics - all that does is make the thread harder to work with. In this case, the graphic added nothing to what you'd already said.

No, what I did do is instead of using a second animation on the same audio file in the beginning and end I added a second copy of the same audio file and placed that one's timing at the end and for some reason the video saved. this may not work in every instance. I don't get this error message often but when I do it usually means a complete rebuild of my presentation to get it to save to video.
Now I'm having another problem unrelated to Microsoft, when I save the video to my Android phone there's a 3 second sound bite in it that's garbled, and only that 3 second segment, however it plays fine in Windows. First time I've ever experienced this problem so I'll have to find an Android forum for this one. Android phones automatically convert the file type from MP4 to some other format when saving to the phone. Thank you. |

Try this
I was getting the same error in PPT 2016 over and over again out of nowhere after many successful attempts at video creation. I am using inserted audio that starts at the beginning with recorded slide times. I noticed that I had the little speaker icon on every single slide and it was checked to play across slides that wasn't there before. I deleted every speaker icon on each slide except the first one, made sure the sound was still sert to start in the Animation Pane, and unchecked "Play across slides" (although it still played correctly across each slide). After that, the video finished without an error and the checkmark reappeared by "Play across slides" (although the speaker icon is gone after the first slide). Maybe this will work for someone else. :-)

I have been having the same issue with exporting to mp4. It looks like some of you were recording the audio and then inserting that into the slide show. (I have read about doing that but have not tried it).
However, I was recording the audio directly into pptx2016 and not recording it as a separate file. The reason for this is that I want to be able to change slides out as needed and recording it in pptx means the audio is attached to that slide. This beats having to record the entire presentation again. The weird part is that this worked fine 3 weeks ago. I know that I can always record the presentation through gotowebinar or freeconferencecall, but then I lose the ability to edit single slides. Any suggestions? |

Same Issue Here
Here is what I did to find the slide that was causing the issue.
open another instance of PP and copied each slide one by one into the new presentation , rendering the video each time until I found where it would not render, on the bad slide I recreated it and it worked. May not help everyone, but may help some of you. |
