Default Primary color theme in PowerPoint

Hello,

I noticed that the shapes that I've created from SmartArt in PowerPoint follow my template color, even If I copy one of these shapes to other PPT file, it can still follow the destination theme color. Also, Although I convert the Smartart to shape, the primary color theme still can work for this shape.

I made the coloring accent from darker to lighter color and it works perfectly for SmartArt objects.

However, when I create a custom shape or download from other sources, I cant apply the primary color theme to that custom-made shape. So, I want to understand and know how to apply the primary color theme to custom-made shapes.

Thank you
