Default Use drawing tools during presentation while showing taskbar.

I'm a teacher who uses a smart board. The software that came with the board isn't acceptable, and I'd prefer just to use the annotation tools in PowerPoint. Of course I have to present the slide show in "browsed by an individual (window)" mode but, in that mode, the menu options aren't shown. The reason I have to use that mode is because I need the taskbar to always be visible so that I can quickly jump back and forth between windows. I thought maybe the solution would be to present in fullscreen mode and then select the option to show the taskbar. But when I do that, it hides the menu. And showing the menu hides the taskbar! What options do I have? Thanks.
