Checkboxes on PowerPoint Slide

I have inserted checkboxes on a PowerPoint 2010 slide using Developer but can't figure out how to get the boxes to check. How is that done?

Are you in Slide Show View? I think you can only check/uncheck them in Slide Show View?

As Judith says you can only really click them in show mode. You can check the box in edit by RIGHT click >> Properties and set value to True.

Probably not that useful!
