Default pointer to another slide page

Hello,

I would like to know if it’s possible to automatically update a slide number appearing in the text of another slide.
For instance, in slide 1, I have written “please refer to slide n°X“. If I add or delete a slide (between 1 and X) the page number of slide X will automatically change. I would like that the number in slide 1 is also automatically changed (so I don’t have to do it manually).
So for instance if I add 1 slide (between 1 and X) page number of slide X will become X+1 and the phrase in slide one will become “please refer to slide n°X+1“.
Do you know how to do this ?

Thank you very much

Unless you are prepared to write some fairly complex code there's no way to do this. However if you create a button that takes you to the required slide then the link will update if you add / remove slides.

Dear John,

Thank you very much for your reply. I really want to be able to do so (and not use a hyperlink). I saw the same question in another post :
https://www.office-forums.com/thread...tation.130330/
I tried to use this code but I'm not really familiar with macros.
Is this code up to date ? Do you have a better code to use ? Can you please guide me ?

That code doesn't do what you need.

Have you thought of putting all the reference slides (or maybe duplicate slides) at the END and putting APPENDIX 1, APPENDIX 2 etc in the slide number box?

To be able to update the text you could study this file. Beware though it won't be simple to understand.
