Default Opening a PowerPoint template as a new document, via hyperlink

Hello all,
I have a PowerPoint template file that when I open manually (with a double click) it opens as a new blank document with that template style. This is what I want it to do.

Now, when I open this file via hyperlink (a button in Visio), the template file itself opens, not a new blank document.

Is there a setting I have to change in order to open templates as new blank documents via hyperlink?

Thanks in advance!
