Link parts of excel spreadsheets in powerpoint and change source of links
Hi!
Here is my situation: For a customer I want to create a Powerpoint that includes links to different excel sheets. These links are supposed to refresh automatically, I guess that's called live links. Also the links donīt refer to an entire excel spreadsheet but only to certain parts of it. So far so good. Here is my problem: So all of the above works just fine when I update the links to files that are stored on my network or when I change the source of the links to another location in my network. However, the excel files I want to refer to in the powerpoint are not in my network environment but in the customer's. So what happens when I update the links in the powerpoint to the files stored in the customer's network is that the entire connected files are integrated into the powerpoint and not the parts (cell A5:F20 for example) that I selected before. Since it is a very big spreadsheet and I only need parts of it on every slide this creates a pretty big mess. Does anyone know how to keep the parts of a spreadsheet that are supposed to be linked in the powerpoint even when changing their source to a foreign network environment? I hope the question is understandable. Thankful for any advice. Alex |
