Default Strange powerpoint glitch.. any ideas?

I work for a tour operator specialising in Japan. I sent a powerpoint file to my colleagues in Tokyo for double checking and they wrote back to say there were many duplicate words that needed to be deleted. My original version did not have these words.
I'm using Office 2016 and they're using Office 2013. Please see the image below, which shows a comparison between my version on the left and theirs on the right with the duplicate words circled.
This has never happened before and we've been exchanging files in this way for many years through various versions of Office.
Any ideas?

Obviously you know that Japanese line break rules are very very different to western ones but I don't see how it could do this. Very weird.

Are you able to post a before and after slide?

I had more info from my colleagues in Tokyo. Apparently this happened when they opened the file as an attachment through their email client (Outlook) but did not happen when saving the file to their desktop first.

Additionally, if they adjusted the column width; all those duplicate words just disappeared!

I cannot reproduce this error on my end when opening directly through my email client (Thunderbird) so it's not really possible to send a before and after slide as they'll both just look as intended.

Oh well.. it's never happened before and may not happen again so I guess it's nothing to worry about but it is an oddity!

Thanks for getting back. I saw you (similar) reply to Steve Rindsberg elsewhere. Still pretty weird though.
