Default A straight line back-and-forth motion animation for a single object.

I would like an object (a text box) to move on a straight line from point A to point B and back. I very much prefer achieving this on a single object (i.e. not creating additional text boxes), as I'd like to apply other animations to the whole motion path.

I've tried to edit the path points of some predefined motion animations like 'Square', but the results are unsatisfactory, as the object travels along a skewed, zigzag line.

Is this feasible?

Of course. Use one of the lines (Left, Right etc) and drag the red end point.

That would move my object from point 'A' to point 'B' - whereas I need to move it back, to the initial position, afterwards. Oh, I remember! The way it is done is that you create a duplicate and first reverse the movement direction on the duplicate. And you'd need to make the first object 'disappear' after it accomplished the movement ... probably. Have to experiment ...

I think the animation would look like

SHAPE A Move (on Click)
SHAPE B Appear (on Click)
SHAPE A disappear (With Previous)
SHAPE B reverse path (After previous)

SAMPLE

No, there exists an embarassingly simpler way to achieve that: namely, in the motion animation's menu there is a tick box "Auto-reverse".

Only if you want it not to wait for the next click though surely. I assumed that you meant after a second click.
