Default PowerPoint crashes when editing master page

I am a frequent user of PowerPoint, and I have noticed that about half the time I need to edit a master page, PP crashes when I close the master page. Maybe less than half, but enough to where it is an annoyance. Has anyone else seen this, and if so, any solutions? I am running MS Office 2010 on a Win 10 machine.

I would start by checking for any AddIns. Some badly written ones can crash if the autrhor hasn't considered the user might be on the Master!
