White horizontal gaps: PowerPoint 2007
Hi,
I am trying to remove the white horizontal gaps between my pictures on a slide. The only way that I have managed to do that is to expand the picture by dragging but this does not seem to be the best way as it maybe distorts it. I attach a picture showing this issue before dragging it. Any ideas? |

Your picture have a different aspect ratio to the slide. There is no way to drag the whole picture to fill the slide and not get distortion. You could try cropping the picture so it is the same aspect ration as the slide. Obviously you will lose some of the image from the sides or changing the slide size BEFORE adding the pictures

Many thanks. This isn't ideal but I think I will leave things as they are unless of course there is some other free software that I can test for this purpose. I would need to be able to write text in slides and do a presentation of pictures that would ideally cover the whole screen.

Best bet is to resize the slide before you start to 16:10

Thanks a lot.
I did what you said and also followed the instructions from here. I then formatted the picture and changed the solid fill to black. Now I am looking into putting in some videos onto the slides. I managed to find out how to play full screen and I will just change the solid fill to black as above. The problem is that some of the videos are upside down and the rotate option is greyed out (I use VLC player) so I don't know if there is a workaround for this (they are playing normally in VLC). I am not sure what is a realistic file size limit for this whole project as I read that if the PowerPoint file is too big it might fail. |
