Default Changing Default Fonts for Text Boxes and Tables

Hi...

I am helping a client get a powerpoint template set up, and I think we finally have one nailed down that they should just be able to run with. However... it started with a purchased template that we then modified to suit their needs, and I have a pesky font problem.

This downloaded template used a default font that requires a download (and they don't want that; they told me what they wanted). I have fixed the text on the slides and in the slide masters, HOWEVER... it still wants to use the default font (which will simply display as a Sans Serif/Arial-like font, BUT could potentially present a problem at some point) when I insert text boxes and tables into the presentation. Since this font is not downloaded to my computer, I haven't been able to follow any of the other instructions for removing a font since it doesn't show up in a list...

Version: PowerPoint 2010

To get the table font you will have to learn how to modify the theme.xml part.

This XML defines the major and minor font to be used (not the same as the font you have set in the master)

Tables usually (not always) use the minor font by default

Here's a (horrible) example where the Master font is set to Aharoni but the minor font is set to Algerian (obviously just to demo!)

The default table will use this by default.
