Default Powerpoint Bullet Point formatting with tab button

Hi all,

Need some help on this please.
I understand and can use Masterslide set up, using INDENT Increase/Decrease buttons etc. but I have come across some weird formatting when setting bullet points using the bullet point button and using TAB to indent them.

The second bullet point is larger than the first bullet and after the third bullet, they tab further across, out of line.

And when there are multiple bullet point columns on a page, there is no consistent format.
I've attached images of the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks!
