Default Power Point 2016 keeps crashing and won't start normally

Hey, guys... ! Looks like the problem went away on its own, Power Point now opens normally on my main machine. I'm leaving this post for the next guy coming behind me...

----------------------------------------------------

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2768648

I ran the offCAT tool and it says the hardware acceleration for my graphics adapter has been disabled. The Advanced feature in File/Options is grayed out and unavailable in Safe Mode. This problem just started yesterday as Power Point worked fine before this. I installed the latest drivers for my GTX 770 adapter, made sure Win 10 Pro is fully updated. The link above says one may have to wait 30 days until a shim is available so if anybody has the same problems cropping up you may have to run your presentations on another machine temporarily. All my other Office applications work fine.

I installed Win 10 Home on VirtualBOX on my main PC and Power Point works fine from there. This is a Live Office account so I can install on up to 5 machines. So if Microsoft doesn't come up with a fix for this problem I'll have to buy another Win 10 Home product key and run my PP presentations from there. Probably would help to upgrade my machine to 32 GB of RAM as well so the VM can have 16 GB all to itself.

Now I have to learn how to bridge network adapters in VirtualBOX so I can join a homegroup with my physical network or I'm going to be doing a lot of uploading and downloading of very large video files from OneDrive or DropBox.

--------------------------------------------------------

Power Point 2016 will only start in Safe Mode. Here's the rundown on what I did to fix this problem.

1. Did a Quick repair in Control Panel/Programs and Features

2. Did Online Repair in Programs and Features when the quick repair didn't help.

3. Used the Microsoft Office FixIt tool, rebooted system, and downloaded/reinstalled Office 2016 from Office 365.

4. Used the Run As Administrator option upon start up.

Every time I start up Power Point, it tells me it can only start in Safe Mode.

Looks like the only option is to download VirtualBox and install an Evaluation version of Windows 10 on it and run the Microsoft Office Suite from there, or do a complete bare metal wipe and load of Windows on this computer. Or pay a Microsoft software architect to pore over the millions of lines of code on this install for about two weeks - at $100 an hour - to find exactly which segments of bits is causing Power Point to crash, and more importantly, how to hack them out of the registry without breaking functionality elsewhere.

This forum won't let me attach screen shots or I would to aid in troubleshooting. If there's absolutely no way to get Power Point to work anymore normally on this particular install of Windows 10 Pro I just wish the application would set off a sea flare series of error messages stating that I need to reinstall Windows or use the application on another machine. Anybody have any bright ideas? Thank you.

Default Now I'm getting message about the Graphics card not configured correctly

However, the Help menu that appears when I click on the highlighted link says to go into File/Options, click Advanced and uncheck a few of the settings. There is and Advanced in the backstage area under Options but it's grayed out in Safe Mode. If somebody could shoot me an email I'll gladly send you screen shots of these error messages and solutions Power Point Help has given me, and the lack of the Advanced button after I reach File/Options menu.

Meanwhile I'll install a virtual machine and run my Office suite with Power Point from that until a resolution materializes.
