Default Run Scrolling Text (marquee) along a series of slides as they play

Happy New Year Everyone!

I'm using PP 2013 and I've put a set of my photographic images together to run as a silent slide show, about 12 images in all.

What I would like to do is run some information across all of the slides (or perhaps 2/3rds of them in the middle of the sequence) as they play.

This would be similar to a "news ticker" seen at the bottom of Sky News or CNN broadcasts.

So far, I've only be able to get the text box to run in one slide, and that stops the sequence from running until the animation completes. This makes it too short for my purposes.

Can someone please advise on how I can use the animated text to play across all of the slides? I expect the whole sequence to run for not more than 20 seconds.

Another question: I looked for "Crawl in" as the entrance animation of choice, but I can't seem to find it in PP 2013. I used "credits" and changed the direction to "Right to Left" but it's not ideal. Can you advise on the best option for this type of scrolling text and/or let me know where "crawl in" is, please.

Thanks for any advice.

Stephen

There's no simple way to do this. Animations cannot play across slides. If you put the animation on all slides (or master) then it will restart when the slide changes which is not what you need.

The only (clumsy) workaround I can think of:

Make a slide the normal width but with height set as low as possible (1 inch)
Add the whole animation stretching the text box off slide to the right. When happy save as video (wmv) and then insert this video onto the first main slide.

In the animation pane change the animation to PLAY - with previous (not triggered) and in effect options set stop playing to after 999 slides.

You will need to experiment to get it looking half decent!

Crawl is similar to Fly In set to very slow but not exactly the same.
