Default embedded audio has noticeable hiss

When I INSERT>AUDIO>Record Audio with my PowerPoint slides I get a poor quality audio - static/hiss in the background. To rule out the hardware setup I recorded a .wav file with Windows Sound Recorder and got an excellent quality clip. I am using a Yeti Blue microphone with Win7 64-bit OS. Microsoft Office Pro 2010 is 32-bit. I am assuming a problem with PowerPoint and would appreciate any thoughts. -craig
