Can't update/refresh embedded Excel file with Power Point 2010 command button

I'm having trouble updating or refreshing an embedded excel table (2010) in Powerpoint 2010. I have a command button on the slide but the code I'm using can only update a linked excel file and I don't want to run a linked file just an embedded file (for security reasons). Anybody have any idea of the vba code I can use for this procedure or module?
