Exit Animation after a Motion Path
Hi all,
I use Motion paths a lot to simulate data moving through networks. I have the data "appear" with an entrance animation, then move through the network using a motion path. My goal is then to have the data "arrive" on a computer by "disappearing" over it. Typically I do this with an exit animation. Every time I've done this, it works fine. I add the exit animation to the shape in its original, start position. Then when the motion path animation moves the shape, the exit still happens in the proper area (over the new location). However, there is a particular slide where this doesn't happen. The exit animation jumps the shape back to its original position before animating -- ruining my effect of data moving through a network. Is this something that can be controlled with an option somewhere? In the past it just always worked, the data would exit wherever it presently was, after whatever motion paths may have affected it. I've tried removing and re-adding the animation, and ended with the same result. Any help would be appreciated. |

Sounds like you have selected either "Rewind when done playing" or "Auto Reverse"

I'm afraid that is not the case. I just looked at three animations where this was happening and in all three neither "auto-reverse" or "rewind when done playing" was selected.
However, it did clue me in to something else. When I use the "Peak out" exit animation, the image "warps" back to its original location (before the motion path animation). But other animations will play with the image in its final position. So it seems to be specifically tied to the Peak Out animation. Anyone have any insight as to why that one? Or how to change it? |

Under "Effect Options" select "Hide After Animation". Not sure if this is available in 2013 but it is in 2010.

That isn't it either, ejungk99. Any other ideas?

There IS definitely something weird about Peek Out.
What I see is if the motion path ends at a point "higher" on the slide it works but if lower it starts from the original shapes top. |

Any suggestions on a work around (short of using a different animation)? |
