Default Slide Master indent settings for bullets not correct when applied to regular slide

Hello everyone. As stated, we are encountering an issue with our master slide layout format not carrying over correctly to the new slides when the template is applied by right-clicking the slide, choosing layout, and selecting the slide template from there. This is assuming you've applied the template to the new PowerPoint. When applied, it seems correct until we get to the second level and the indent is off as you can see below.

This is a serious design flaw and we can't use the template until it is fixed.

The master template is located at:
"C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Tem plates\Document Themes\"

The regular slide with the document theme applied to it is on the left, the master is on the right. Both .thmx and .potx were tested with the same result.

What we have tried:
-We've tried manually formatting it in the slide and copying to the master.
-We've tried tricking it to indent correctly by pulling the indents back in the master, that didn't work.
-We've tried to make the "Second Level" be the first bullet technically, with the first level being basic text and that made it worse.
-We've tried to make the "Insert top level text here" level be the first bullet and make that bullet invisible, but then the initial text appears indented. Not a solution.
-We've tried a few other procedural things (order of inputs, etc) all to no avail.

I can redo any of these examples and provide screenshots to show the resulting behavior.

Perhaps there is a best practice for creating templates that we aren't following?

If anyone has any ideas, I would very much appreciate your time and help!!

Thanks,
JT

Talking Solved.

We found a solution!

For those interested, the layout is just screwed up, obviously. We couldn't manipulate the Master in any way to automatically be correct when the layout is applied. The solution (see: workaround) that we came up with was to apply the layout to the slide, start creating it with the incorrect indents and bullets, then simply click the "Reset" button next to the "New Slide" button. This pushes the indents and bullets to the correct format based on the original Master slide.

I don't know why it doesn't just apply correctly the first time, but this fixed our problem.

Thanks,
Jordan
