Question Way to get date on each slide correct?

Hi, I need to have the insert date function put the date each slide was created at the bottom. Neither the "Update Automatically" nor "Fixed" seem to do this. One just shows today's date everywhere, which I'm surprised is even a feature, and the other never changes whatever date you put in. Any way to do this? So if I add a slide today, I want today's date to stay there permanently, while slides I add later on will show the date they were added. Thanks!
