Default text formatting

Any ideas on what is causing the text formatting issues in the attachment.

When I select all it selects not what I am expecting. I have cleared formatting using the clear format button but it is still there. I am needing to just select all and apply my formatting either by choosing or using the slide master.

Thanks for the help.

Is it possible there is another text box overlapping the one with the text you are trying to select and it has white text in it causing this issue?
