Default New Animations and Image Resolution

I have two questions about ppt.

1. Is there a way to add animation effects other than what's included. i.e. I noticed there were a few animations that were in 2007 that are not in 2010. Yet - when I copied a slide from a 2007 generated presentation - the animation - the one that wasn't part of 2010 - suddenly became available. So, I started wondering if there was a way to add different kinds of animations beyond what's normally included.

2. I like using the zooming effect of the "grow/shrink" animation. However - if I resize the image smaller and then grow it larger - the enlarged image is very blurry....even if I'm only enlarging it to it's original size. However - if I leave it it's original size then use the shrink animation to make it smaller and then the grow animation to make it larger - the grown image retains it's original resolution. So - the question is - is there a way to resize and image smaller but keep it's resolution so that when it is later grown via the grow/shrink animation it's just as clear as before you resized it.

The short answer is "NO"

The long answer is "YES" but only if you are a very good coder and understand how animation behaviours work in code. For most people it's "NO" but for a good coder you can build new animations by adding behaviours and they will play in PowerPoint without the code. We have an Add In TWEENY that builds a grow or shink and rotate and motion path animation. There are demos on the page.
