Issue with hyperlinking to PDF
Simplified explanation of my problem:
I am attempting to use a hyperlink within powerpoint to open a web-hosted PDF to a specific page. The hyperlink syntax to accomplish this is to add "#page=17" or whatever the page number is, to the end of the hyperlink. As soon as I close powerpoint, this extension is deleted from the hyperlink (the hyperlink to the PDF is still there, just not the page number part). Is there a setting, option, preference, or powerpoint file type that will stop powerpoint from deleting that extension from the hyperlink? For argument's sake, lets assume this is the most feasible way of accomplishing my task. I can't chop the PDF into smaller files and link to those because they must be web-hosted from our secure business server and I can't upload chopped versions of the numerous PDFs to the secure server either. The ultimate purpose is to provide this powerpoint to others so that they can find pertinent information buried within large PDF documents. Thank you. |

Sadly this is a long standing bug. I'm not sure whether it was fixed in 2007 as I no longer use 2007 but it might be worth making sure you are up to date with service packs - seems fixed in 2010 here (service pack 2)
