Snap to Object When Cropping
I have several .jpg images I need to crop in PowerPoint, and I plan to have one cropped image per slide. In PowerPoint 2010, I created an 8" x 6" (landscape) rectangle as a guide so that I could crop each image the same size. With the rectangle copied to each slide, I would insert the image onto the slide and the image would cover the rectangle. As I cropped the image, it would "snap" to the boundaries of the rectangle making it easy to crop each image on each slide the same size.
I don't know how or why the "snap" feature works in the 2010 version; I like it but never activated it. This “snap” feature does not work in the 2013 version and I wonder if anyone knows if the feature is available in the 2013 version and how to activate it. To reiterate, this feature works as I’m cropping and aligns each crop with the boundaries of the rectangle. PowerPoint doesn’t force me to actually crop the image at the snap point, but makes it very easy to do so if I want to. Thanks. |

In PPT2013 you can snap to other shapes while cropping an image by holding down the Alt key.
