Default Image Display Issue in PDF document created from Powerpoint 2007 presentation

Hello,

I have created a presentation in Powerpoint 2007 and saved it as a PDF document (no problem in that).

However, what I have noticed in the PDF, when I mouse hover over any graphic, is that I get a text popup with the name of the graphic that I inserted into the Powerpoint slide (e.g. Upload name of graphic file such as "nameofgraphic-500w.jpg"). It's just untidy and looks a little amateurish.

So how do I eliminate this text popup that presents when I hover over the inserted images? Can I do this within Powerpoint 2007, or do I need to rename all these graphic files to something like "nameofwebsite.com" and reload them so the text popup looks better?

Any help here would be appreciated.

Thank you,
KennethD

Are you able to upload a sample of the PPT and PDF file as I'm unable to replicate this issue.

Hello "The Training Lady"...

I resaved the PDF from the Powerpoint presentation, and that issue seems to have 'vanished', in that there is now no image link text when I hover the mouse over the images in the PDF? Go figure??!! :-)

Thanks for your response though, appreciated.

Glad it's OK now.

Probable explaination.

2007 adds alt text to any image you insert (the name of the file). 2010 and later do not do this.

When you save as PDF there should be an option to include the alt text or not (Document Structure Tags)

Hello John...
When you save as PDF would that be under "options" and then deselect the two options "document properties" and "document structure tags for accessibility" found under "include non-printing information"?

I figured that was the case John, but thought I'd ask.

Thank you for your help.

As I said versions after 2007 do not add Alt text in the same way but there are excetions.

Insert Photo Album always inserts all text and sometimes dragging a picture onto the slide will add alt text

The alt text can be used by screen readers for accessibility.
