![]() Hi this is my first attempt at powerpoint and I am using 2007 version. I have a picture of the pastor of our church. I have managed to create a halo on as a transparent gif and placed it over the shadow of his head. What I would like to do is make it sparkle a bit as it is not obvious. I can save the transparent gif as a separate image if this would help. Any ideas for a novice like me. TIA Desmond. |

Now I am confused. I created a folder with all the mega size pictures and added them into the PPT. The PPT file is 18Meg which is smaller than all the pictures. I have found out that I can run this PPT on it's own. How is this? are the pictures shrunk and embebde? can the files be kept along side and used?
HELP TIA Desmond. |

PowerPoint 2007 (on) has a nasty trick. If IT thinks your picture resolution is too high it downsamples it. Many people will be happy with the result but maybe not if you're a pro. Sadly it is difficult to turn this OFF permanently and you have to add a key to the registry.
IF you know how to do this the key is HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\PowerPoint\Opt ions\AutomaticPictureCompressionDefault. Set the value to zero (OFF) |
