Removing white background from an image
I am often asked to create posters, diagrams, etc. using some images that come with a "white background". Is there a way within PowerPoint to remove the white background so that the images can be used without the white background showing up on the pictorials? I appreciate any help offered.

Glad you found a solution but might be worth saying if the solution was "Set transparent color" (which has been there for several versions before 2010) then in 2010 there's a new method "Remove Background".
There's a slight learning curve but it will give better results nearly always. |

Thanks for the response. The solution that I referred to is the latter method you mentioned (Remove Background). I will have to fiddle with it a bit before I am proficient but, this will work.

That's definitely the way to go.
My friends Chris Maloney and Ric Bretschneider have both written blogs (They are both former PowerPoint Team Managers at MSFT) http://ricbret.wordpress.com/2011/01/09/the-blur-trick/ The link in Ric's blog to Chris is broken try: http://blogs.office.com/2012/03/26/p...-a-background/ |
