I need my video to work in an older format. Previously in this file i have had some difficulty embedding the videos. When I used .AVI files the video would embed fine but when i would re open the file (out of the same folder) the video would now appear as a picture. I got it working with a .MOV format for the video however will only continue to work if I save it as a .PPTX and I need it to work in .ppt.



Any ideas?

I'm a PC user but I guess it's the same.

Video can only be embedded in pptx files in ppt you must link when you add the video. If you downsave from pptx embedded video will be rendered as a still image.

I don't have a Mac. On a PC there's an option when you insert.

Hey John,
I have been trying a few different methods to put the video into the presentation. The option of Link to file doesnt show up for me unfortunatley. Im not to sure any other way to go about it. I have tried to convert all my files to MOV, or AVI, as well as embed as both video and picture. The weird thing is that I can "link to file" with pictures but not with videos.

My heads really spinning with this one, especially since this should be so simple!

PS i switched to a PC to make life easier.. that way i can follow your steps easier.
