Question Change font sizes in template

I am trying to create a presentation in PowerPoint 2007, but the default font sizes in the template I've chosen are too large. I'd also like to have the option to use a different font.

I could create the presentation and then change the font sizes on all the pages, but that seems to defeat the purpose of a template.

How can I modify an existing template to use smaller font sizes by default?
