Default Recovering a corrupt file

Hello,

I have power point presentation that was created in pp 2003. It is stored on an external disk. I recently added a photo to the presentation from the internet and now I cannot open the file.

I am running Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. The file had been working perfectly until I added the photo. The file is also password protected.

I have tried using various software repair programs from the net but non of them work.

Can anyone offer any help on how I can recover the file?

Cheers
TT

Are you able to post the file somewhere?

We could at least confirm it really is corrupt!

Hello John,

unfortunately I can't post, copy or upload the file because each time I try I get an error message so I would say the file is definitely corrupted.

Any other suggestions on how to fix it would be welcomed.

Cheers

Definitely your PowerPoint file is corrupted now. It is corrupted because of that photo you had added from Internet. Have you tried to open your file in “PowerPoint 2003 Viewer” ? If No, then try these methods to recover it.

1: Open the presentation in MS Office Word- Open word, go to the File menu and click Open. In the open dialog box, click the arrow next to the Files of Type box at the bottom of that dialog box, and then click Recover Text From Any File. Now Navigate to your corrupt file, select it, and then click Open.

2: Use Safe Mode- You should try to open your file in safe mode.

3: Try a third Party Recovery Tool- You can try some softwares to recovery your corrupted file. Like..
