Default Poor Image Quality

Hi All,
I'm having a problem with the quality of images I'm inserting into PowerPoint. The images are simple screenshots of some software but each time I insert them into Powerpoint, the images are not as sharp as the original image I have captured.

I've tried virtually every file type (bmp, jpg, png, tiff, pdf), turned off (tried to) compression via 'Save As', downloaded screen capture utilities (SnagIt) and used other machines with different versions of PowerPoint (XP - Office 2002, 2003 and 2007).

I have also read (and tried) solutions posted in many, many threads and but still can't get a good copy to display.

After all the work I have done in trying to find an answer, the next step is to ask people on this site if they have any answers. Alternatively, is there anyone here who would be kind enough to test one of my images and tell me how they have done it if successful?

The only thing I can think of now, is that it must be the image itself.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Best wishes,

DataSys

I am having the same issue scanning text with line drawings. For the image to be somewhat sharp on the screen the bitmap file is 17 megs. There has to be a better way. Karen
