Can I change the proofing language for all the text in a PowerPoint presentation at once?
My experience is that it has to be done slide by slide (Control All - Set Proofing Language), but it seems quite improbable that this is still the case in the latest versions of PowerPoint. Up to PPT2007 the slide by slide language setting could be done quite fast by using F4 (to repeat your last action), but that doesn't seem to work anymore in PPT2010, or at least not for that particular action. Also, even when using Control All, any table text does not get included so all tables have to be 'language set' separately by selecting the text within the table. Changing the language in the master slide text holders doesn't work either. Hope that I have been overlooking a PPT function, may thanks in advance for your help! |

One thing worth trying:
Change the left pane to Outline view and select everything there. Now change the laguage in the REVIEW tab. This will only affect things you could select on each slide with CTRL A (*ie not tables, smart art, non placeholder textboxes) but might get you closer. We do have a commercial solution which can change everything to any language. I'm afraid it isn't free though. The free code on that page will change non placeholder textboxes and do a better job than the above. It will not change tables etc. The AddIn will of course fix everything in 2010. |

Thank you for this quick reply, John!
Using Outline View is something I somehow rarely think of in PPT, but since it takes care of all placeholder text throughout the presentation it definitely solves that part of the problem. The add-in looks interesting, just a few questions: - Since there is mentioned on the linked page 'found every occurance of the old language' > does this mean you have to select 1 old language to be replaced by 1 new one, or will ALL the text be selected and set to the 1 new language, even if the old language is in fact maybe 2 or more different languages? - Does this add-in also work in PPT2013? Thanks again! Judith. |

The addin sets all text to the chosen language and works in 2013. We cannot guarantee it will work on all systems but if it doesn't just ask for the money back in the first 30days!
