Default Edit Template

I have a company template sent to me to use and I noticed the footer has a wrong year in it. I want to edit the footer to 2013 date and also remove an outdated graphic.

How do I edit a template using PPT 2013? I went to Master Slide and could not figure out how to edit footer.

Is it possible that some options are greyed out due to protection rights on the template?

HELP

If it's really a footer try:

In normal view > INSERT > Headers and Footers

Change or insert 2013 in the footer box

Apply to All;

John,

I got excited hoping it was as simple as yoou had proposed, but perhaps it truly is on the template and therefore I need to figure out how to edit the template.

Thanks a million for the suggestion. I was ready to sing your praises.

It's not a real footer then.

If you go to View > slide Master

Is it visible / selectable of either the large master or any of the smaller layouts?

Are you able to post a one slide sample somewhere?

In Master View there are Slide Masters ( = in the bar on the left: the ones that have numbers in front of them) and Slide Layouts (= in the bar on the left: the smaller ones that 'depend' from the Slide Master).
Is it possible you are trying to edit the footer in a Slide Layout while you should be doing this in the Slide Master?
