Default Pause / restart a background MP3 ?

At Slide 1, I inserted an MP3 to "Play across slides" . It is long enough to play for 30 slides.

At Slide 10, I inserted a video clip that has its own audio. Is it possible to pause the playback of the background MP3 while the audio of the video clip is playing, and then resume?

This is for a PowerPoint slideshow that plays unattended, playing continuously.

Thank you

AFAIK that's not really possible. You might be able to use an editor like Audactity to insert a silent section while the video plays.

Thanks...

I can edit the MP3 file, and trim the end/beginning as necessary, but that gets a bit time-consuming.

I thought about this a bit after my post, and I guess the best way is trim (with PowerPoint) the end of the background MP3 at the point where my video/audio clip begins.

Then I would re-insert the same MP3 after that video/audio clip ends, and then PowerPoint trim the beginning of that inserted MP3 to match up with where the other MP3 section ends.

Also, not easy, but better for a bit of trial-and-error on end/begin of MP3 sections.

The only problem is that PowerPoint "trim" does not always seem to work.

Trim is not reliable when played across slides and always gives a very sudden end / start.

I would definitely get Audacity and do a proper edit fading out to added silence and then fading in again after the video. Not that time consuming and will sound much better.
