Default Linked slides incorrect after conversion from Powerpoint to pdf

In Powerpoint 2010 I have created links on the first slide which bring me to other slides in the presentation. When this file is converted to a PDF and opened in Adobe Acrobrat 9 Standard, but also in Reader, the links do not bring me to the appropriate pages. For example, if in powerpoint the link is supposed to bring me to page 2, in Adobe it brings me to page 3 (and so on). Does anyone have a solution or a way to work around this? Thank you.
