Default Pausing slideshow in presenter view to do demo

Hi all,

I've just started using MS Office 2013 Powerpoint and I love the Presenter capability. But I work as a technical trainer and often have to duck out of the slideshow to do a demo before resuming the presentation.

With presenter view, I 'show duplicate screens', and then ALT-TAB to the application I want to demo so I can see it on my screen and so can my students.

However, when I go back to presenter view, the slideshow and the presenter view are on the same screen and I can't seem to get back to the way it was without closing my presentation and re-opening it. Which is a bit clumsy, to say the least.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a better workflow for breaking out of presenter view to demo another application?

Thanks in advance.
