Do you have a default local printer driver installed?(Use XPS if you don't have a printer)

(Crazily) PowerPoint 2007 uses the printer driver to adjust the screen layout.

If you do not have a printer choose Microsoft XPS Printer in Control Panel > Printers and click "set as default"
