Limiting the number of views of a PPT
I have searched the net, to no avail regarding this issue.
I am creating a series of educational slides, and I want to limit the number of times a recipient can view a particular PPT presentation. I also want to prevent copying or modifying the presentation to the extent that it is possible. Any assistance on this subject will be gratefully accepted. |

To prevent copying or modifying in PowerPoint 2007, go to File > Prepare (or File > Restrict Permissions with classic menus). You can select "Mark as Final" which makes your PPT read-only or you can get more options in the "Restrict Permission by People" section. In PPT 2010, it's very similar, just go to File > Info instead.

That covers copying, however my larger concern is limiting the number of views before the file becomes unusable.
I have searched extensively, and so far, I can find nothing on the subject. Am I looking for something that just cannot be done with current PP versions? |

Marking as final is pretty useless as the user can just unmark it. A modify password can prevent copying but it is easily defeated.
There is no simple way to restrict the number of views. Shyam Pillai has a (not free) AddIn "Secure Pack" that may do this but I haven't used it. |
