convert 124mb show to video for use on web

using powerpoint 03

25 slide show - pics and animated text. resulting file is 124mb - i'm assuming this is due to size of source photos?

i need to use the show on the web - i tried a simple screen capturing programme, but the result is very jerky even at the max frame rate avail, and the resulting file is 424mb which is obviously far too unwieldy for the net.

is there a way to convert/export/record my ppt file to avi or another video format and optimise it for web and mobile devices?

any help very gratefully received

What is the Pictures format? If it's TIFF you have to convert it to JPEG or PNG to reduce the size of your PPT.

thanks hani. Yes the pictures were all jpegs.
