Default Presentation going back to start

We use PP to present work instructions to our assemblers. They use a PP reader, while I use 2010 to create the instructions. When I am creating a slide show, I set it to Kiosk mode. I do not use any animation or transitions. The assemblers will then view a custom show for the product they are building. I have heard comments that if they leave a slide up for too long, the presentation will flip back to the beginning slide. I have never witnessed it, but several people have noticed it. Does anyone know about this? If so, what is it, and how do I fix it? Thanks!

It should reset after 5 minutes of total inactivity. This feature has been broken in several versions but I think it works in 2010.

So apparently, it is a feature, not a problem. Do you know if there is a way to disable this feature besides not using kiosk mode? One of our assemblers discovered that if she presses the Windows key to make the clock visible, the page does not reset.

The tutorials site looks very useful. Thanks.

It is definitely a design feature. If the kiosk is left for over 5 minutes it resets.

Can it be turned off? NO.

Can it be tricked? Well not here but I've heard of people having success with adding an animation every minute (doesn't work for me) or writing code to jiggle the mouse pointer at times. This can work and there are free apps out there to do this but I've had only limited success. I have even seen a spare laser mouse mounted on a non digital watch. The hand moving (second hand) activated the mouse!

I guess all that means no real solution.

We have been discussing this, and decided that a work-around is to use PP in the Individual mode, rather than kiosk. That way our assemblers have the added functionality of being able to access other windows while the PPS is running.

Sounds like we are not the only ones who are frustrated by this feature. I like the mouse-on-watch method. Very creative.

Thanks for your help.
